Irving Woodlands was pleased to once again sponsor the Municipality of Grand Lake Family Day Ice Fishing Tournament and the Tri-Lake Ice Fishing Tournament.
In collaboration with Bass Pro Shop, Irving Woodlands provided two grand prizes of ice fishing packages valued at over $3,000 each. These were taken home by Jesse Ells of Moncton for the Tri-Lake Tournament, and Austin Lane of Salisbury for the Family Day Tournament.
More than 300 participants attended the two events either as competitors or supporters. Irving Woodlands partnered with the Municipality of Grand Lake for the Family Day Tournament, which saw several local councilors helping to keep others warm with a bonfire and serving hot dogs and hot chocolate. Kevin Nicklin, Mayor of Grand Lake, also lent a hand with organizer Ralph Goodwin to measure and categorize fish at the Tri-Lake Tournament.
"The working forest works for communities like Grand Lake," said Irving Woodland's Robert Fawcett. "It’s great having the opportunity to support the local communities where we live and work. We met folks from many NB communities, including fellow teammates and their families who came to enjoy the fun of ice fishing. We look forward to welcoming you to next years' competitions!
