Nature parks are valuable to New Brunswick and Canada as a whole, for many reasons. They provide wildlife habitat and ecosystem protection, havens for people to exercise or relax, and a chance to learn about the environment around them. Parks can foster an amazing community as people from all walks of life come together to engage in endless recreation opportunities. The Irving Nature Park and La Dune de Bouctouche were developed by J.D. Irving, Limited (JDI) to preserve unique and uncommon ecosystems for the public to enjoy responsibly. Sustainability is deeply embedded in our culture and central to safeguarding the environment. This core value is one we love to share every day with nearby communities and visitors through our nature parks. This year, we were pleased to have welcomed over 370,000 guests to our parks!

The Irving Nature Park, a 600-acre site located in Saint John, NB, was created in 1992, with opportunities to stroll or swim along Saint's Rest Beach or go hiking and biking. Its environmental significance cannot be understated; at the mouth of the Bay of Fundy, it has one of the province's richest marine ecosystems. Sea urchins, green crabs, seals, and porpoises all call these waters home. There are many special events at the Park, including moonlit snowshoeing and meteor shower gazing. There is something for everyone!

La Dune de Bouctouche and Irving Eco-Centre boasts an 800-metre boardwalk above a delicate and unique dune ecosystem, where sandpipers, plovers, and other migratory birds roost each spring. In fact, a rich variety of marine and aquatic plants and animals are found at La Dune! From Atlantic herring, northern quahog, and moon jellyfish to marram grass and the salt marsh, guests can discover a new gift of nature with every visit.
Each park offers hands-on learning programs both online and on-site to delight and inform. For more information, visit www.jdirvingconservation.com
We can't wait to see you next season!
