Thank you to our 2022 tree planters!
Our long-term commitment to sustainability is rooted in the importance of planting future forests – it’s a promise we have been keeping since 1957. To date, we have planted over one billion trees which is a national record in Canada. This year, our team of hard-working tree planters planted 19 million seedlings to regrow our future.

JDI values the hard work of the students who plant our trees by providing annual scholarships to help fund their university or college tuition payments. JDI has supported hundreds of tree-planting students towards their own future and goals, and hard-working tree planters also have an opportunity to grow their careers with JDI. Many of our executives and directors started as tree planters!
"Tree planting is part of our long-term commitment to sustainability. It’s an investment in the future forest and the wood supply that sustains an integrated value chain from the seedling to paper and consumer tissue.” said Jason Killam, Chief Forester at JDI. “We appreciate the dedication of the student tree planters who are helping grow future forests. The seedlings they have planted are the source of clean air and jobs for Maritime families.”

Thank you to our tree planters for their dedication to the forests of New Brunswick!
