Sussex Garage Volunteers at Sussex Sharing Club

This holiday season, the team at the Sussex Garage wanted to give back to their community. Garage Manager, Reg Woods, reached out to the Sussex Sharing Club to find out how his team could help with this year’s Christmas Basket’s initiative. The team donated several hours on multiple days to help set up the Christmas Baskets for the families who would be coming in to pick up their Christmas dinner supplies and gifts.

“It’s great to come and help the community, be a part of the community and get involved. The Sharing Club is a big part of the Sussex community”, says Carrie Carson of the Sussex Garage.

The Sussex Sharing Club provides meals for families in the Sussex area who find themselves in difficult times. At Christmas, they provide Christmas Baskets to their families, from turkeys and stuffing, to garbage bags and roasting pans. Toys, hats and mitts, and school supplies are all available to the families they help. They also run a second-hand shop, The Sussex Sharing Shop, that is open to the public, with proceeds going toward expenses and programs.

“We’re always looking for volunteers and donations,” says Warren Hayes, a volunteer with the Sussex Sharing Club.
